As a FinOps Specialist at Somnio Software, you will be key in optimizing our cloud costs and ensuring financial accountability across our technology landscape. You'll work hand-in-hand with our Engineering teams, becoming the architect of efficient resource allocation and cost visibility.

Your role will be diverse and dynamic! Reporting directly to the Head of Cloud & Platform, you will be instrumental in forecasting, managing instance reservations, and driving cost-effective strategies in a company committed to world-class digital experiences.

Job requirements

Our Perfect Match:

  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a FinOps or cloud financial management role

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (experience with GCP, Azure, or other cloud providers is a strong plus)

  • Deep knowledge of cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud Billing, CloudHealth, Cloudability)

  • Strong experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and enterprise-level cost optimization strategies

  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and partner closely with Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership teams

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, IT, Cloud Computing, or Business) is a strong plus

  • Someone who actively contributes to the FinOps community, speaks at conferences, or is regarded as a trendsetter in cloud financial management

  • Full professional proficiency in English (mandatory)

Nice to Have

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

  • Experience with automation tools for cost management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across multiple services

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to implement cost-effective cloud solutions

  • Develop and maintain cloud cost forecasting models

  • Manage Reserved Instances and Savings Plans to optimize long-term costs

  • Provide visibility and insights into cloud expenses through dashboards and reports

  • Define and promote best practices for cloud cost governance

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in cost management
